Questions

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, the security page covers the deep technical end.

Is Quest free right now?
Yes. During early access everything is free while we build. The launch tiers are published on the pricing page so nothing about pricing is a surprise; billing starts at launch, and existing users will be told well before it does.
Are any app features locked behind Pro?
No. Boards, goals, canvases, linking, embeds, offline sync — all of it works the same on every tier. Paid tiers buy vault storage, the AI-companion allowance, and the project’s continued development. We don’t hold your workflow hostage.
Does it really work offline?
Really. Every change writes to your device first (IndexedDB), then syncs when a connection exists. You can plan a whole trip in airplane mode and it reconciles when you land — per-field conflict resolution, no merge dialogs.
Why doesn't Quest show my other calendars?
Deliberate. Quest isn't another window onto every calendar you have — it keeps ONE calendar of its own on each service you connect, and that calendar is fully two-way: whatever lives there lives in both worlds. Your existing calendars stay exactly yours; bring events across with import (copy or move, your choice) and they become two-way from that moment. If you want the reverse view — Quest inside your other tools — the read-only feed drops your whole Quest schedule into Google, Apple, or anything that can subscribe.
Why don't meeting invites show up in Quest?
Because invites are addressed to your primary calendar, and Quest never touches your primary calendar — that's the same design decision that means Quest can never wreck it. Accept or decline where the invite landed; if an accepted event belongs in your Quest world, import it or create it there and it syncs both ways after that.
If I stop using Quest, what happens to my calendar?
Nothing — and that's the point of the design. Everything Quest synced lives in a normal calendar on your own Google or Apple account, in standard event format, addresses and notes included. Disconnect and it all just stays there. No export step, no lock-in, nothing to rescue.
What happens if I hit my storage quota?
New uploads are declined until you free space or upgrade. Nothing you’ve stored is ever deleted or held back, and export always works.
What is the companion allowance?
The AI companion is in development. When it ships, Pro includes a monthly allowance sized so normal daily use never hits it; the ceiling exists because AI inference has a real per-use cost and we’d rather publish a limit than quietly degrade the product. The exact number will be printed on the pricing page before billing starts.
Can I leave and take my data?
Always. Vault export and account deletion are implemented endpoints, not support tickets — see the security page. Offline-first also means your devices hold your data anyway.
What’s the demo? Do I need an account?
No account. “Try the demo” gives you a private, throwaway workspace seeded with a small project — drag things around, edit everything, embed a task on the canvas. It evaporates when you leave.
Is my data encrypted?
Files in your vault: yes, envelope-encrypted at rest. Boards/goals/canvas text: access-controlled at the row level but readable by the sync server today — end-to-end encryption for those fields is a designed-for upgrade. The security page states this plainly, because you’d find out anyway.
How will payment work?
Card payment at launch. Details land on the pricing page when billing does.
